top stories we're working on this morning. sexual assault allegations involving 49ers wide receiver michael crabtree. as his team prepares to face off against atlanta in the n-f-c championship. the search continues this morning for a missing why family and friends think she may be in danger. they're controversial, they're revealing and they'll soon be gone. the nation's airports are changing one way passengers get screened. details coming up. >> good morning everyone and thanks for joining us on we'll get to the top stories in a moment. but first, want to get a quick first look at your developing story on sexual assault allegations. against 49ers wide reciever michael crabtree. this news comes just one day before kickoff of the n-f-c championship game between the 49-ers and the atlanta san francisco police are it is said to have taken place at a san francisco hotel early sunday morning. crabtree is cooperating in the investigation. and has not been detained nor arrested. available for further questioning. and is expected to play tomorrow. statement on the incident which says. quote - >> "we are aware of the allegation against michael. and understand that he has fully cooperated with authorities. the 49ers take

such matters very seriously. comment at this time. as the legal process is ongoing. comment should be directed to michael's attorney." gary radnich will have more on the 49ers. ahead in sports. >> authorities in the east bay searching for a teenage girl who may have run off with with an older man. 13-year- old delicia moreno. pictured on your screen. was last seen thursday leaving for school in hayward, but she never showed up for class. kron 4's dan kerman reports on how her friends and family are spreading the word about her disppearance. >> the was no indication that she had any plans on leaving or running away. >> family and friends will spread of the word. anybody with information about either of them is encouraged to call the alameda church office. dan kerman, kron 4.

the limited--sheriff's office. the alameda sheriff's office is asking for the public's help. >> authorities say they've found the bodies of a missing berkeley woman and her boyfriend. camille kob-er and eric eide went missing at the end of december. their bodies were found yesterday in a rural part of shasta county, near eide's home. the couple went for a walk in the woods, then got disoriented during a storm after dark. shasta sheriff's deputies haven't found any evidence of foul play. we're getting a closer look at some rescue video of a skier. buried by an avalanche at lake tahoe last month. you can see from this helmet cam video, the buried skier was able to put a hand up above the snow surface. and then brush snow away until he was freed. the skier admits he and his rescuers made mistakes, including skiing above a ridgeline prone to slides. also, not having proper training for such a scenario, and not equipping all party members with rescue gear. the skier says he wants others to learn from his mistakes. >> no more invasive x-rays

at the nation's airports. congress ordering the transportation security administration to replace the old x-ray scanners. that's because the company that makes them can't fix the privacy issues that reveal graphic images of the travellers bodies. that remains a concern for travelers. oakland international is one of two airports still using the old scanners. passengers we spoke with tell us they welcome the change. ".that we have in this country" san jose mineta airport also has the old security

scanners at both of its terminals. congress has given the t-s- a until june to change to the new scanners nationwide. new data shows that unemployment fell in many bay area counties last month and is holding steady statewide. the state's unemployment rate was at 9-point-8 percent in december.down from 11-point-2 percent in december 2011. marin county boasted the lowest unemployment rate in the state at 5-point-5 percent. percent unemployment rate in december.

the man who gunned down two people at the richmond-san rafael bridge toll plaza back in 2009-- is given the death penalty. after an emotional hearing in martinez friday, nathan burris was sentenced to death. burris was convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend and her male friend-- who he believed were romantically involved. burris represented himself at his tria. he told the judge he feels no remorse. a record number of people have applied to enroll at u- c berkeley. nearly 68 thousand people applied for fall. that's about 10 percent more than last year's

applicant pool, which was also a record. the golden bear hopefuls will find out if they've been admitted by march 28th. students trying to transfer to cal from another college find out by april 26th. u-c president mark yudof is leaving his post later this year. yudof says, he will resign at the end of august. because of health issues. he is planning to return to teaching law at u-c berkeley. yudof has been president of the 10-campus system since 2008. he oversaw some tumultuous times. including deep cuts in state funding and academic programs. sharp increases in tuition. and several rowdy on-campus reach up of 20- feet. this morning seven hostages and the latest in algeria.

start off in the south bay 66 in los gatos. santa clara. and a little bit cooler with 50s and 60s there. downtown san francisco, 62 degrees. mainly low 60s and there. the satellite and radar showing this high pressure. that is what is causing this sunshine. taking a look at your 7 day around the bay. the good news is that we are expecting warmer conditions. >> visitors at state beaches are being asked to be extra careful if they are near the water this weekend. the weather is expected to bring warm, powerful waves. the coast guard and the national park service. are both warning swimmers and boaters. to be on the lookout for rip tides and sneaker waves that could reach up of 20- feet. the weather is good news for spectators who are headed to the mavericks big surf contest near half moon bay on sunday.

amon >> more violence in algeria. this morning seven hostages and eleven kidnappers were killed in an army raid on a gas plant held by the extremists.this latest effort by algerian security forces to end a standoff with militants holding foreign hostages. it's now in it's fourth day. it has also been confirme that one u-s worker was killed at the b-p natural gas plant. algerian forces launched their first rescue operation thursday. 650 workers were reportedly set free. secretary of state hillary clinton says this is a very dangerous situation. >> let us not a forecast that this is an act of terror. the perpetrator let us not-4 get that this is an act of terror. let us not forget. they have taken hostages from algeria and other international visitors from around the world.

>> algerian state- run media says, there are more hostages at the gas field complex. including americans. but the exact number is unclear. officials say at least twelve hostages have been killed. the militants claim, the number is almost triple that. at 35 deaths. >> president obama is heading up a national day of service to kick off a weekend of inaugural events. the president, first lady and vice president joe biden and his wife, jill will also participate. this year's inauguration is expected to be scaled down

>> san francisco sheriff ross mirkarimi and his wife eliana lopez are being sued by their neighbors. ivory madison and her husband claim mirkarimi and lopez accused them of lying to police. they also charge mirkarimi and lopez of being part of a political conspiracy to seek financial gain. the accusations came after lopez confided in madison about a december 2011 incident in which mirkarimi grabbed her arm during an argument. madison recorded a video of lopez recounting the incident and then reported it to police days later. it became the centerpiece of the case against mirkirimi. nations have adopted the first legally-binding treatyu-n officials say the treaty was approved this

morning after all-night negotiations. mercury is a highly toxic metal. it's currently used in many industries and products, including thermometers and energy-saving light bulbs. some environmentalists say the treaty is a good first step. but they also say it should require that each country create plans for reducing emissions. bamut >> it could be weeks before we know the results of a second autopsy on a chicago lottery winner. police believe he was poisoned. the body of urooj khan was exhumed friday. medical examiners say they have collected additional samples to see how cyanide ended up in his system. khan died in july as he was about to collect 425- thousand dollars in lottery winnings. his death initially was ruled a result of natural causes. but a relative asked for further tests, which revealed he was poisoned. authorities say it could take two to three weeks to get back the results from the second autopsy. coming up, gigi will have more on the atlanta game.

found the bodies of a missing berkeley woman and her boyfriend. camille kob-er and eric eide went missing at the end of december. their bodies were found yesterday in a rural part of shasta county, near eide's home. the couple went for a walk in the woods, then got disoriented during a storm after dark. shasta sheriff's deputies haven't found any evidence of foul play. we're getting a closer look at some rescue video of a skier. buried by an avalanche at lake tahoe last month. you can see from this helmet cam video, the buried skier was able to put a hand up above the snow surface. and then brush snow away until he was freed. the skier admits he and his rescuers made mistakes, including skiing above a ridgeline prone to slides. also, not having proper training for such a
